Restyle Studio is one of Toronto's leading full service custom upholstery + decor workroom, fabric gallery and workshop spaces.
Situated in Toronto’s accessible east end midtown, Restyle Studio is a leading full-service furniture + decor resource including reupholstery, refinishing and made to order furniture such as ottomans, beds and headboards, banquettes and bench cushions and bespoke upholstered furniture. All upholstery and refinishing is done on site by the small and growing team. Projects are given individual attention in a maker-led studio. A curated fabric gallery is served by appointment for one-on-one textiles help. We have a Designer Trade Program for design professionals and act as the furniture and soft decor expert. For designers and design-minded clients, we accept COM for flexibility with their projects.
For more than 10 years, Restyle Studio's award-winning workshops were an elevated DIY experience with modern surroundings, gourmet snacks + meals, teaching approachable techniques for traditional trades. Participants arrived with minimal supplies and left with worthwhile, full-sized projects and a profound sense of accomplishment and inspiration. We specialized in reupholstery and from-scratch furniture workshops but also offered a variety of textile and art + craft classes. A suite of Restyle’s decor, furniture + craft workshops were offered in mobile format for events, corporate partners and private parties around the GTA and across Canada.
Mabel is the mascot of Restyle and a permanent fixture at the studio. She is often found napping under the front desk.
She likes to greet visitors with her proximity alarm barks.
Andrea Ford is the founder of Restyle and the designer/maker behind all of the custom reupholstery and made to order collection. Andrea's styling and design work has appeared in magazines such as Style at Home, Canadian Family, Canadian Home and Country, House & Home, Toronto Life and as the Home Editor for Chatelaine. With a design degree in fashion and a life of woodworking and DIY, Andrea brings style and decor together, from new trends to old classics – with many DIY projects in between. She shares inspiring spaces, shopping news, design tips and her favourite furniture as a guest designer on TV shows such as CBC’s Steven and Chris and CTV’s The Marilyn Denis Show and as brand ambassador for creative campaigns across Canada.
With a love for hands-on craft work, Andrea began upholstering in 2007 for her own home. Soon, she began experimenting with colour and shape, and developing new techniques of her own. Friends began to spread the word and boutiques requested to carry the growing collection of remade antiques. Each piece takes her fashion approach to furniture, reflecting trends on the runways and streets. Today, limited collections are available through specialty boutiques, via Restyle’s online boutique, or made to order with custom design services available.
In 2010, Andrea opened Restyle Studio with two focuses: a custom upholstery workroom serving the general public and designer community and elevated upholstery and home decor workshops. Today the custom side of Restyle is a dedicated focus with workshops to return in the near future.
